Weight Loss Thread 2014

Jeez, 68kg's lost? Did you give birth to a full sized adult recently? :p I'm continuing to lose weight, even though I'm a lot less strict on the diet, just keeping sugar to the absolute minimum. 76.6kg this morning, down from 101kg in the beginning of the year.

Lost 3 Kgs on the first week of the Banting diet.
Wife isn't very happy though, she didn't lose anything.

Everybody responds differently to it... My wife lost 7kg in the first 2 weeks and then stalled and got negative. (Even though she was losing cm and looked great). She then started losing her ways slightly. She is probably up a few again.

At a time I also stood still on a certain number for weeks and came here for advice. Just waited it out and I broke through the plateau.

Yeah, body recomp takes place even when there's no scale movement, but it can be depressing when you feel you've sacrificed for nothing.

I'm still steadily losing, down around 15kg now and feel I've got the right balance between gym and diet.

I did cheat this weekend for my father's 60th, but I knew I would and get straight back, so I didn't mind living it up a little.

Great job, D4N. That's impressive as hell. Keep it up Gary.

I'm 29 and weight about 88kg. Not too sure on the accuracy of my scale. I'm 1.86m tall. I think my bodyfat percentage is about 20%, but also not sure on that. Will have to measure it at gym one of these days.

My goal is to lose about 10kg of fat by the end of the year, and gain a few KGs of muscle. So I'm lifting weights about 4 times per week, and doing cardio about 3 times per week. I've also drastically reduced by carbohydrate intake. I've stopped adding sugar to tea and coffee, and I don't buy rusks anymore (my only weakness!). I have all bran with no added sugar in the morning (for the fiber!), and then for lunch I have foods without carbs, generally cheese, avocado, nuts and similar salad things. Then for supper I normally have a low or no carb supper.

I do cheat on weekends, but even then I don't add sugar to my tea or coffee. The only time I have chocolate is on weekends. I am going to get more strict on weekends though.

You lost about 1.33 x my body weight :D

Congrats!

What time period was this over btw?

Started in April 2013, I lost the majority of the weight last year, here's when I was tracking weight religiously on a weekly basis:

So this was me about a month ago :
Lunch was either KFC, McDonalds, Steers or any form of junk food
3 sugars in my tea, coffee, white bread was my staple diet - ate around 12 slices a day, drank a lot of coke and beer, ate lots of biscuits and chocolates. I finally got to a point where I needed a change and wanted to get fit again.

On the 1st of September I decided to spring into action:) - I cut out all fizzy drinks, juices and beer
No sugar in my tea and coffee - this was difficult at first but i'm over sugar now. Switched from margarine to butter. Bread in down to a minimum - maybe 2 slices of wholewheat bread in a weekend. Veggies and chicken/fish for supper.
No more junk food for lunch and I hit the gym during this time 5 times a week. Luckily the gym is a 5min drive from my workplace. Training consists of cardio and weights and I take a protein shake post workout. I was 108kg and am down to 99kg in four weeks. My goal is to get to around 85KG so I still have a long way to go.

Did some low-calorie dieting in Jan/Feb but fell off that horse. I started LCHF in April and haven't look back since. Have done little to no exercise since June due to a running injury.
