So, I've been playing around with my neotel prime modem at work the last two days. It works very nicely. Connection is sitting stable at 2.4 and a rssi of about -49 which is the best i've ever seen :)

Anyways. So heres the funny thing. Everytime I have connected to the internet my local area connection stays active but I immediately stop receiving packets from the network. Quite frustrating and not that good if youre trying to work on the network.

We have a dhcp server that provides ip's and the ip is correct. Just so freaking weird.

The moment I disconnect the modem the network connection starts receiving packets again and everything is hunky dory. Weird.

Anybody else have similiar problems or any recommendations? All I can find on the net is just ppl and their cable modems having problems but nothing as unique as this one.

That sounds pretty much right to me. Windows will use your last/latest network connection as the default gateway. It's got do do with routing and other stuff. You can't be connected to different networks (Neotel, with it's own public IP, and your LAN with it's own private IP) and expect to send and receive traffic on both... or at least that's my understanding.

Hopefully someone can give a more a technical and correct explanation??
