HI there, hope somebody can maybe help.
Im using a Netgear DGN2000 for about 6 months now and never had a problem.
Last 2 weeks or so, when i dload stuff after about 10 mins or so the adsl light on modem turns red and computer says no network connection.
I phoned telkom.......then my isp, mweb, and both say nothing wrong there side.
I did a port interrogation with telkom, reset my line and still have the same problem.

Any ideas??
Could it be my router??

Is your problem occuring in the day & night?
Is there static on your line?
Does a friend have a router you can borrow for a few hours over the same time of day your problem happens?
What ADSL package do you use?

Note ''...wrong their side...''

Also had the same problem 2months ago, phoned telkom 4 times to get them to come test my line they said there is nothing wrong, thought it's afrihost nailing me so I gave them **** also no problem on their side. ended up testing my router at a friends place & finding out it was the router that's faulty.

try borrowing a router from someone to test your line

Sounds like the ADSL filter is going, I've had that happen before. Unplug everything, phones, filters, the lot. Just plug in your router and see if the problem goes away. You can buy new filters from any telkom shop. I think they are around R50 each.

Thanks for all the advice.
Will check it out when i get home.
It doesn't seem to be a problem when i browse, as i can browse all day no problem, but when i start putting a little strain on my line, ie dload at about 100k/sec then my ADSL light starts flashing a lot quicker on my router, and then goes red, then i have to switch off router and then it seems to be fine again, but if i dload again same problem?
