One thing this reminds me of are people who get into cars and drive around without the proper training or license (sometimes have a license but never properly trained/practised). Those type of people are really more prone to accidents than those who have a few advanced driving courses below the belt.

Just welded a bunch of scrap metal together till I got to the point where there was no more "hoenderkak" and things actually stuck together :)

Lol.

Unless you want to build custom choppers like those blokes on tv, there's not much to it.

Just get a good machine and practice on your own.

I'm a coded welder. Ask someone to show you the basic steps .Two welding helmets and watch and then chat then, work on what your doing wrong with the rod and steel.

The course you were looking at is for someone doing it full time.
