I never thought this day would come, but here it is!

Well done to Telkom call centre.

My ADSL is offline, so I phoned Telkom. Less than 20 seconds before I spoke to someone, and that person was clued up. Intelligent, knowledgable, helpful.

Unfortunatley my problem is a line fault, so he could not assist, but he tried everything - and told me at every step what he was doing.

Before the call was completed, I even got an SMS with my fault number!

Wow.

True - but for now I will ride the crest of astonishment.

Don't worry fellow wugger! we look after our own!

I'll make screendumps of webpages u wanna read, and print them on your printer at home for you!

My line went faulty a few weeks ago. They said it would be 10 days before they would come and fix it. A couple of emails to the right people, and it was fixed in 4.

just remember guys if your line is faulty tell them u use it for business and ask then to make it a priority

you'll be surprised how fast it gets fixed

I had a problem down here in BFN and my line was fixed the SAME DAY!

Actually (and I really don't care for Telscum) the guys here in BFN are pretty jacked. Got my initial install within 10 days and when moved house last month they moved the line the day I asked them to!

/me faints... :)

I think it depends very much on your local guys and the size of the area you are situated in. BFN doesn't have the demand for ADSL that Sandton (where I lived before moving to BFN) has and there I waited 3 months to move a line.. :(

LOL! We'll see how long you wait and how many follow-up calls you have to make before your line gets fixed :/

I never had such luck.... My adsl is not working, phoned them, waited 20mins for someone to answer and only 6 days later my adsl worked agian!!

And then legitimate businesses who use ADSL are without a line for longer because residential faults are in that queue. Businesses lose money, you dont.

And businesses pay more, don't they? Presumably for the faster service.

Businesses do pay more, so hopefully Telkom sees its a residential fault and keeps it seperate even if someone says they using that line for business use.
