We're not closing our stores - Makro

Massmart is consulting with unions about store closures and job cuts, but Makro will remain unaffected.

In its announcement, the company said its plan is to close a total of 34 physical stores and retrench 1,440 employees in an effort to improve its finances.

Yeah I'd imagine. That's also why their bags are all clear now, so security can see what's inside.

I've also found security is now more strict. They actually check the items before stamping your slip.

Still love going to Makro. They literally have everything, and are decently priced.

Makro doesnt even have 1 employee its not a company. How can a "Markro" employee say they are not closing stores? Makro does not exist. Massmart can not say they are not closing stores, they are closing stores. They can say they are not closing Makro stores, but they can not say they are not closing stores.

I can understand the Dion Wired - i rarely walk into one and when I do there;s like 4 people in the whole store.

Plus last time I went to the Greenstone one that manager was clearly being racist to one of his employees over drinking water while being on duty. Was not a nice situation, won't go back there.
