I just saw a documentary on the great west Indies of the 80's and early 90's. (Supersport2), my God they were brilliant. Their story is truly unique.

They never lost a test series in 15years, home&away. Amazing. Holding, Garner, Marshall, robberts, Viv, loydd, insane.

I wish west Indies would return to their former glory and i hope their win on Sunday was a start for them to become a force again..

I watched it last week. Really good with some harsh words about South Africa and especially the rebel tours....

Yep, but I was encouraged by their show of unity. Have alot more respect for them as a nation.

I was watching something with the great Malcolm Marshall blazing some English batsmen with one hand in a cast, if I saw correctly. He was a true legend.

I enjoyed the footage of the Big Four having a full go at batsmen... LETHAL!

They weren't lethal, they were deadly. I loved how well directed those bouncers were bowled. Right in rib, chest, neck, chin region. those pitches looked like green decks and the batsman had no protection. The injuries must have been terrible and yet they continued Batting.

Must have been quite brave to face them

Started the sane thread somewhere, watched it last week, loved it, then they won the WC, cherry on top.
Hope they can keep it up, we need them back in form in world cricket!
I want to see more of those lethal bowlers, the sport is crying out for then!

Nice to see that the wi are not limited to gayle scoring runs, when they saw the pace fail they removed the pace and hit the spinners.

SA could have done it

Sarwan recalled after 18-month absence

http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-west-indies-2013/content/current/story/601020.html

Last year Ramnaresh Sarwan was a litigant of West Indies cricket. Today he is again a representative of the region, having been recalled to the limited overs team for the tour of Australia.

Sarwan's return follows an 18-month absence from the team, during which he claimed to have been hurt "mentally and emotionally" by national team's coaching regime.

In September it was revealed that Sarwan had won $161,000 in damages from the WICB after his fitness was publicly denigrated by the board when they dropped him from the list of centrally contracted players in 2010.

"I'm happy to be back in the team. Obviously I've been out for a while, but it feels really good to be back representing West Indies," Sarwan said. "I am hitting the ball pretty well. It's a matter of me trying to get myself in and settle down and look to get big scores for the team."

...

Great to see him back in the squad.

West Indies squad: Darren Sammy (capt), Dwayne Bravo, Tino Best, Darren Bravo, Johnson Charles, Narsingh Deonarine, Chris Gayle, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Kieran Powell, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Devon Thomas
