Depends where you interests lie, programming, desktop support, servers, security. It's no good just doing random certs.

Admin fields such as Server admins, Domain admins I would suggest MCITP exams and maybe VCP.
Virtual server admins definitely needs VCP and MCITP.
Developers We'll these days IMO nothing short of BSC IT unfortunately.
Database admins SQL/Oracle and maybe some dev courses.
Storage admins: TSM/DPM.
Remember it's not what you know but who know. Many large corporations will pay for certifications but you first need to get in.
