Yes, its been there for a while. But as far as I can see the pricing is the same. But the service code is different. Strange.

As far as I understand, this is a better way of purchasing bundles. Rather than having to do it yourself every month, it now comes off automatically, and the service can be stopped at any time, provided its before month end. Vodacom's stepping closer to becoming a real ISP rather than just a cellular data provider.

The month-to-month bundles are nothing new.

The problem with them is you can't make your bundle last for up to 60 days, and because they consume your newly allocated bundle before the remainder of last month's bundle, you can never carry-over in two consecutive months.

lol. Maybe its just that - PROMO DATA BUNDLES. Kinda like promo SMS bundles. So if you take a deal where you get a promotional 20meg Data bundle for instance, that could be a Promo Data Mymeg 20.
Ie. they debit and credit the same ammount to your account and you get your bundle. Don't think it can be done in store though (credit). You'll just get billed.
Same goes for V4Me.

so if i want to upgrade my bundle to 1gb month-to-month today (which apparently i'm supposed to do, last day of the month, billing, etc), do i pick the promo bundle or the normal one? I'd hate to miss out on the free 200mb/month...

1.1 DATA BUNDLE VAS PROMOTION BACKGROUND

Vodacom will be running a data bundle promotion on standard data bundles only. The promotion will only apply to all month to month bolt-on data bundles activated on 24 month voice packages, exclusively to VSP customers. The customer will benefit from the promotion by saving up to 30% on data costs.

1.2 IS THE DATA BUNDLE VAS PROMOTION A NEW OR EXISTING PRODUCT/SERVICE OR PROMOTION?

This is a new promotion available to selected VSP Contract customer only.

1.3 WHEN IS THE LAUNCH DATE OF THE DATA BUNDLE VAS PROMOTION?

This promotion will run from 8 March 2010 to 6 May 2010.

1.4 WHO IS THE DATA BUNDLE VAS PROMOTION AVAILABLE TOO?

The promotion will apply to month-month bolt-on data bundles activated on 24 month contract voice packages (excluding TopUp)
