I sold my loss-making rental property, so you could say I’m cutting back on Joburg’s misguided art-deco phase.

Just my opinion but anything property related in SA is misguided the moment you want to purchase as an investment deriving income from it. The property market is gone, unless you want to buy yourself a property to live in, and do not place your hope on recovering your investment in future.

Have cut everything i could. Been reviewing the budgets regularly so see if there is anything else that i can remove or reduce.

Yeah, I’m out of the property game for a while. And I took a loss on the sale because the above-inflation levy increases were putting pressure on my budget.

As for recovering my investment, I took the proceeds of the sale and dumped it into a global ETF, which then immediately dropped 10% (but has since recovered).

This month I totally ran out of money and had to ask my mom for some bucks. Never happened to me before, so am reassessing everything

Restaurants and take-away food mainly.
Cut Dstv a while ago now.
Might cancel Espn+ as I hardly watch anything nowadays.

Fewer trips out on weekends means saving fuel. We do out occasionally, but we love being at home.

We buy fruit and vegetables once a week at places like Carreira's Fruit And Veg. Cheaper than supermarkets and stays fresh for a lot longer too.

My point remains, a jar of coffee = cheaper than any other coffee means.

Point being, that when you pass a certain point, then I would rather not drink, what you get for cheaper. I drink Coffee, and Tea, for my enjoyment and pleasure, at the point where that requirement is not met, then I go without.

Nothing

I do try and drive less, but half of that is avoiding the cowboys and traffic-light jumpers. My last car was written off by a while lady "in a hurry" in her Lexus.

Capitec have a 40c/litre scheme when petrol is purchased on 10th of the month

The other schemes (Clicks, Dischem, BP are a waste of time)
