I use a Gillette Mach 3 razor for shaving my face. Its a great razor and cuts really well.Problem is its damn expensive.Averages R60 per blade. For me blade lasts +- 5 shaves.I shave once every 4 days.
Id be interested to hear if there are cheaper solutions out there.
TIA

Typically I use a full hair trimmer to trim my beard but on the odd times I go clean shaven, cutthroat with a simple old half minora blade.

Smooth like butter and minimal irritation, fresh half blade every shave.

Use Mach 3 every 2nd day. Blade lasts a good couple of months, 4-6 in general, before I replace it.

cant be that long

but also i guess how much hair

cos i used the gillette 5 blade and oen blade will last just over a month, shaving twice a week both head and trimming the beard

i now use the shick one and its cheaper and last around the same time

Been using a Philips One Blade for a few years now. It’s not a smooth shave by any means and it’s messy as hell but it’s effective enough in its own way.

using one of those generic replacement blades for my Gillette mach 3 proglide
much cheaper and can order them off takealot,

think a set of 8 blades is like R200,

Yeah, after watching Eastern Promises I don't trust people who own these.

Mach 3 for my face, wired Wahl for my head, cordless Wahl for my balls...

I find them the best and most affordable.
They getting harder to find though. Yes I have tried Gillette and other brands but these I find the best.

Its funny but I dont get the refernace.

Mach 3's gunk up due to the length and strength of my hair. I tried a double edge ( which is the same "blade" just a full one ) and it worked well but a cutthroat works really well for me.

Takes practice but my skin is also rough enough to handle the glide that the learning curve wasn't that bad. Gotta be carefull near the nose though, always get a small nick.

My beard is soft and only shave cheeks and throat. We bought packs of blades many years ago and still use them. Maybe quality has dropped. Not sure, but mine lasts.
