What car to get?

Cerato - Seems good, but its a Kia. What is everybody's take on this companies cars?
2nd hand Honda Civic Type R - Errr, not really. This car just comes of as douchey to me, getting all those people who park by the street raving they motors.

So what you currently driving, cause I can assure you that there are way more "douchey" BMW and VW drivers out there....

Just need to get the old flame suit on before I post here... right... Around R200k and I'm looking at a new Fiat 500C. Stretching the budget to around R250k and it's the Renault Sport Clio for me.
Very different cars but I think the Fiat looks fantastic and you get the whole top-down thing. The Renault needs to be driven to be believed.

The Fiat 500 is very cool, but you can get the same ride (platform) with slightly lower spec'd interior on a Corsa D which is way more practical and will probably hold its value slightly better. French cars, well I won't give comment on that but if its your thing then why not. Practically speaking the i20 is a good call and if you really can part with R200k then an i30 is superb.

All good points... Back in the day, you know, just after the earth cooled enough to create a crust, I had a Citroen DS and have had a soft spot for French cars ever since. As far as practicality goes, the longer my mid-life crisis goes on, the further down the check list it goes. ;)

Clicky makes Biggy.

iPhone not helping right now, just opens the thumb?!

EDIT: copy/paste URL... much better. Fantastic looking car. Excellent choice for you wedding day there.

I don't think I have seen a company improve as quickly as KIA has over the last few years.

If you compare the current range (new Picanto, new Rio, Cerato, Sportage) to those of yesteryear you will quickly see the difference, it is staggering. The new good looks are from Peter Shreyer (former Audi design chief) and its not just the looks, they are owned by the Hyundai group and share engines etc and are very reliable and cheap to maintain. Roux can tell you more about the engines but the short version is they are very decent, higher than average power for the size and fuel efficient.

BTW I have a 2010 Cerato and a year later still very happy.

Anyway, back to OT: An old premium brand ,3 series etc is not going to be dropping any panties... if it does those are not the kind of woman you should be looking for unless you are keen on STDs. I'd say something like the Kia Koup would fare a better chance :) If you can only afford R200k rather get a newer car (doesn't need to be brand new), Polo, Cerato, i20, Corsa, that kind of thing. A second hand E90 or similar is going to cost you a fortune out of motorplan.

hey guys im alos thinking of either getting a runx rsi or corolla 1.6gle 2002 model.
What you guys think in terms of reliability and long term?

You're getting a Toyota and you ask about reliability?
Thats like buying a Ferrari and asking if it can go fast...

lol ye i know but with regards to the engine when does it usually start giving problems?
