Hey all, I can't say I have insomnia, but many nights I just cant fall asleep till more or less 2 am. I dont drink that much coffee or tea, maybe 2 cups during the evening. I dont even eat chocolates or sweets during the evening.

Last week I heard someone said that work related problems are more likely to keep you awake, than normal personal stuff. Well I cant exactly say I'm happy at work, but that's not what keeps me awake. My dad also suffer from this, so I wondered, does anyone know what the reason is?

Over-active mind. Do some relaxing exercises (breathing techniques and the like) before going to bed, or while in bed for that matter. What you have isn't really insomnia though - I have suffered from insomnia for many years now and have gone a few days without sleeping before. Last time I had to pop some serious elephant tranquillizers to help me doze off...

Yes, You're right, my mind is way too active. And I hate tranquillizers, you always feel off the next day. Anyway that's me.

what about using Natura's Rescue, makes me sleep like a baby...

And helps allot with stress, overactive mind and stress is the problem...

Will try. Does it have after effects? I really dont like feeling duh the next day.

.also.
No coffee after hours.. You would be suprised how long its effects can last..

+1

i went through a bit of emotional stress and crap for around 2 weeks where i'd battle getting to sleep because of all the crap running through my mind... started using this stuff and i'm calm as a baby who just got tit :D:D

For those people struggling with insomnia, and other sleeping pills make them wired... try some Melatonin... It's a natural sleep hormone.

You can get it in South Africa under the BioGen label from Dischem pharmacies...

You can take up to four pills... but I find just one is enough for me to get a good night's sleep. :)

... and no... I don't work for them! :p

Make your bedroom a sleep only zone, no other activities.

Don't take your Altosec (anti heartburn medicine) in the afternoon. Any other medicine/s you take?

Get a boring book to read, that will put you out like that...

even tea can keep you awake. I now only drink 1 -2 cups per day...morning only. any more (or later in the day) and it keeps me awake....It's all those stimulants in there
