What cell phone to get?

I like the K800, but its aging, and the K810's buttons... :(

Does anybody have a K850 to share their experiance with us?

For me it it must be SE or Nokia, maybe HTC.

Ya, the K800 is aging for sure. Not much of an upgrade from the K750 really.

The K810 is a nice phone. If you haven't tried out the buttons and joystick, give them a go before writing the phone off.

The k850i is worse in this regard with the joystick actually in the numeric keypad. How many times do you think you will hit up or down instead of the number key you were aiming for?

The K810i is the same as the K800. Just the aesthetics that are different. K850 is aweful when it comes to usability. Hence my change from SE to Samsung as there were no real alternatives. The decent Nokias are too expensive.

My trusty 2year old k750...very abused, hardly any paint left on it, but it doesnt give any trouble.

Sounds exactly like mine except mine is 2 yrs old in june :p

@OP: Thanks for the thread. It's helping me decide on my upgrade in june :D

I'm hoping that the k660i or V640i are available and affordable in June...

Fair enough. The K810 is basically the K800 in nicer packaging- much nicer.

Anyone seen this? Business Talk120 for R135/month?? Never even heard of this contract before, and can't seem to find it on the VC website.

Nevermind, it was a misprint. Meant to be Talk120.

If they see Talk120 the same as TopUp315, then this might not be such a bad deal. There are R300 Makro vouchers with it apparently...

Still no reply from Vodacom or Incredible Corruption about their latest offerings. I mailed them days ago :(

And if the touch screen wears out, and you're totally dependant upon it, no thanks.

As old-timer I tend to adhere to the KISS principle, and get something simple which will work... :)

Libs, there is something called a Martin Fields screen protector, that you can put over your screen...hehe

I'm on my second one now, cos I write a bit hard with my stylus on my P990i's screen. :(

*I dare anyone to write a sms quicker than I can....

Ahhh, that's what you call it.

Can it also be used on a standard screen?

Ja Oom. :)

You get screen protectors for basically any mobile phone under the sun.

I normally order mine from DomL - never had any problems with them.

www.doml.com

*Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protectors are pretty much the best in the world.

More bad press from a friend who has an N73. Had the choice between the N73 and the K810 when upgrading and is now regretting it.

Problems reported:

--random screen freezing
-- slow OS
-- slow opening of folders (up to 10 seconds for big ones with pics in)
-- small, fiddly keypad
