What cell phone to get?

hj2k_x - what symbian version are you looking for, and why?

Symbian 9.2.

From what I have read it is meant to be fast. The Symbian 9.1 that is on my mate's N73 is not what you would call quick!

If it turns out that 9.2 is, in fact, not any faster, then I wouldn't want a Symbian phone at all, which would narrow my options, a lot!

ahhh, understood.

But won't a vodashop/MTNshop (or whatever) be able to upgrade you to a newer symbian OS?

Or can't it be done?

This I do not know....I am not up to speed when it comes to phone OS's. All i know is that the Symbian 9.1 is slow and it gets slower the fuller your memory gets.

Will you guys consider buying from overseas website like expansys.com? Very little choices for PPC/SP from local providers.

The N82 is fugly and this is what gsmarena had to say about the buttons on the N81:

Opening the slider reveals the numeric keypad, which just happens to be one of our greatest disappointments with Nokia N81. The keypad is entirely flat with almost undetectably thin lines separating each row of keys. If you had any hope of typing on Nokia N81 without constantly looking at you fingers, you'll be vastly disappointed. The keys themselves are quite large but still fail to resolve the usability issues of this keypad. Built on the concept of a new gaming experience, the N81 will likely attract the young and it is not the smartest decision by Nokia to make the phone so texting unfriendly. After all, SMS is key to exactly this age group, which the N81 seems to be targeting and keen texters wouldn't appreciate having to put so much effort into it.

N81 and N82 apparently. Why, you think either is cool?

Nope, I don't like choc_bar type phones, N95 is more my type.I have the N80 for 2 years now no problem at all, My 6600 before the N80 also still going strong.

NOkia 6310i, no better phone has ever been made. Wish I hadn't lost mine...

Also looking for a phone but i don't need anything to fancy pants, just to upgrade from my Samsung D600 on a weekend-everyday contract, any suggestions?

EDIT: sorry for jumping on the bandwagon

I wouldn't say that The Librarian , Have you looked at the Nokia/ Sony_E/ Samsung websites lately a lot of new development for 2008.
