read my sig Bradley; you know me personally; so you know what I drive......

Thanks, i'll look at that one as well!

Don't be like ever "Kommen" D**s and go buy a 2009 135i cause you can pick it up for cheap and then pretend you are a baller or something, cause you have a fast car. Then complain endlessly about reliability when the thing is popping turbos and breaking clutches.. a performance car when they are older are a hazard.

My budget saves me from stupidity :p

Let me add, im looking for something under R90,000 and under 90,000kms, and a newish model - 2008 upwards

Anything with a turbo - those things love to pop and cost a fortune to replace.

I would say Mazda2 or Suzuki Swift according to your requirements.

+1 for Mazda 2 (old shape); my bro bought one out the box & had zero issues with it.

It's a top city car & handles quite well when pushed even.

2nd hand you can find a bargain; aim for the peppy 1.5 motor

Old VW.

Beyond a certain age even the official VW garages tell you to fk off. Quite disappointing given that they were happy to collect "premium" service charges up until that point.

Why does this surprise you? This is true of any dealer-associated garage. The number of old Citi's and VeloCiti's outnumber any other car on the road. Any mechanic can work on them.
