Hey peeps !

so my computer screen is an LG 32' FHD screen at the moment, and i have enjoyed it.

My mom wants to use it as the downstairs TV and then buy me a new computer screen.

So now the question, is it worth changing to a 32' LED TV or should i rather get a 42' LCD TV, its about R500 more for the LCD.

Problem is if i want a 42' LED TV ill have to put in R3k which i don't want to do. I did see a 37' LED tv but the place didnt have stock and wheren't getting new stock :/ so ya which would be best ?

Tough one for me to answer, as I'd also like to know. I have heard good things about the LG's though, there's one out now with 100Hz for about R5,000 that is said to be quite good after reading a few forums. Problem with using a TV as a PC LCD is input lag, but if it hasn't bothered you on your old one then it's probably nothing to be concerned about. Blurry text is also something to be concerned about. The LG I mentioned will be decent for SD/TV. Personally I'd think 40" would be a bit too big although it depends if it's mainly for gaming as well as how far back you can sit. LED back-lit LCD offers no picture quality improvement over normal CCFL LCD, but they are slimmer, brighter and use a bit less electricity.

I'd suggest asking the mods to move the thread here - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/forumdisplay.php/161-DSTV-TopTV-SABC-TV-and-Multimedia.

My bad didnt see that forum :)

well ya thats my main issue, do i want the size with still pretty decent picture, or stay the same size with slightly better brightness :/

Cause i was looking at the LG 42'... it is 100Hz seems to have enough bells and whistles!

a 42" is just too big, trust me i've been there.

it's nice and all, but I think 25" to 32" is the sweet spot. ;)

What's this doing in Health, Wealth, Leisure and Relationships? Is it a sex fetish?

You don't think 42 inches of LCD Staring you in the face can be detrimental to your health or eyesight?
