Its not about balls. This woman is part of may family. Not just a mother in law that inconveniences me and gets in the way once a year when she comes to visit and on holidays. I have worked with this woman every day for the last 3 1/2 years.
I actually do care what happens to her.
 
Didn't you have a problem with your sister and brother in law taking your car? Sorry to say this, but I think you are a .........

I'm sorry man but I disagree...

There are many, many people in this country that are desperate for a job and actually willing to work for it. How fair is it that someone gets paid to do nothing?
To me it just looks like she's screwing you over.

I would judge a business by its office and the way its employees dress, but not the car they show up. That is incredibly shallow.

did your MIL's work ethic drop anytime near when she found out you plannedto sell the company and move to Cape Town. I am not saying it is the issue but maybe she just some underlying feeling towards you and the wife moving to Cape Town.

No, she has been dragging her feet for long before that. We decided to leave in november last year. she's been slacking since the beginning of last year.
 
Never work with family, and always ensure that you live far away from your mother-in-law. The distance should require at least an overnight stay if travelling by car :)

You are in a crap situation. Suck it up. Don't fire her. Sell and move. As fast as you can. Do not come between your wife and her mother. This is a conflict you can't win.
