CT Council operate a good system at their dump in Wynberg, about 5 mins from me. There are reformed bergies who go through whatever you take and recycle it

They especially like PSUs and motherboards, old laptops as these have potentially valuable components within

There is a fellow there who can repair mechanical faults on VCRs. He resurrected a Toshiba beta-format VCR for me. I gave him R200 for his trouble and seemed to be overjoyed
 
Anybody know about a good site in Pretoria where I can drop off some e-waste?

I have two screens which are pretty much dead.

If it is useful eWaste, I usually hand it over to my gardener and he will reuse, fix or recycle best he can. He is quite tech savvy.

Anything else goes into the recycling bin with the other recycling and it is collected once per week from our home to be separated and recycled. We pay for this service so we don't have to worry about separating it or driving it to the nearest center.

I used to drop my recycling off at the Centurion Lifestyle center. They used to have bins for plastics, paper and ewaste in front of the PnP, later it was moved to a hidden spot in the the covered parking area. I'm sure this must still be in operation.
 
there's no poll option for: burn it in the back yard along with other plastic waste I've collected.

Every township & town is supposed to have at least One e-recycling shop (where we sell our old electronics to them for some pocket-change & they take & go Recycle it somewhere --Its a win-win for all of us ❕)
 
If it can still be used in some way I keep it till someone I know needs it

If I can't salvage something my self I just toss it, my town doesn't even have proper refuse removal let alone any recycling options
