This probably is gonna get moved to General Hardware/Software but I think it'll get more attention here, anyway all the technical help threads are in that section...this is more general.
Anyway, I used to use it to modify cars and things a while ago but now been reading tutorials and creating Web 2.0 icons and buttons. If I see a logo of a company that I like I try to recreate it in photoshop just for fun to see how close I can come. I touch up pics and use a few techniques to enhance the colour of it...most of the time I'm just trying out new PS techniques. Its actually very satisfying when something actually turns out the way you intended it  . So what do you guys use Photoshop for mainly?

Everything - but mainly general graphics work, retouching photos and creating website elements . . .

And yeah - sorry but you were right about it getting moved. :o

I use it to resize my pictures and do colour correction.

i use it as a picture viewer

no, actually also general photo touch ups and creating web graphics, buttons, etc.

to make trademarks you would use a program like freehand or adobe illustrator.

photoshop i use mainly for GUI design and photo manipulation and adjustments.

Same here I use photoshop for the same,
I also recommend illustrator for vectoring trademarks etc, vectors are size independent

cool site there Ancient...I guess it only applies to US entrants :(

Not really... all files submitted will be over the internet and 99.9998% of all the prize money is put into your PayPal account... which is international^^ So go for it!

Well I'm a noob compared to those guys I'd never win...I might give it a shot if an easy request comes along haha :) halicon I don't have Illustrator (yet) but my logos come out pretty good in Photoshop but yeah if you wanna vectorise it I guess you have to use Illustrator

I use photoshop cs for modifiy pic and to change file extensions,But the best thing about photoshop is that, its a great way to release stress( like the plugin liquid),gives me a laugh

where can i get good free tutorials on how to use photoshop, it was loaded onto my pc but i have no idea how to use it

I use Gimp, but only because it's free, and I don't use image editing all that much. Yes I know, it doesn't all the functionality of photoshop, but it's fine for normal usage.

Cant disagree with that.

Hey all, I know this is a bit off topic, but I really want a program with which I can take faces, and squeeze and stretch and make it look funny. And also something I can use to make like calenders with peoples own photos on. Can anyone guide me? Thanks
