I don't mean to pry or anything, but I am curious what the users use their alloted 3 gigs for ?

I use mine up in the first 3 ~ 5 days downloading fan subbed anime from Kazaa.

I have no large problems with the cap as such however I do want the capped speed to be enhanced so a reasonable performance is achieved.

What do you guys/gals use your 3 gig on ?

Dl mp3 from Kazaa - but I've reduced that to a minumum - can't afford to get capped.

In no particular order:

Windows updates on Client PC's
Technet lookups
Utillity Downloads
Beta Downloads
newsnet
On line study/research
email (incomming spam takes a large chunk on 10+ addresses)
downloading addons for Trainz Railroad Simulator (must be 50%+)[:I]
general browsing

Cheers
Chris

Hi

I have not yet reached the cap…I simply cannot afford to go any slower. I use it mostly for research and downloading PDF, doc and PowerPoint documents. These can sometimes be several Megs per doc, and I need great amounts of these. My studies are eating up BW as well…I have to download around 100 postings daily, and these often contain large image or other files.

I also try to stay up to date with software, and if I know I am safe bw wise, will look at music. I think it might be a good idea for me to get another account and stop restricting myself :-) Seems like you are having more fun than me!

Regards,

Up to last week, I never bothered about the 3Gb cap. We downloaded whatever we wanted to.

It works like this. When ADSL was initially rolled out, you received (On Prolog Plus) 4 usernames which each have a single login. Later they changed it to 1 username with 4 logins for new clients only. When the cap was enforced, I soon realised that EACH of my for usernames had individual cap. So, 12Gb per month. Not bad.

Last week, Telkom changed me over to single username with 4 logins. So , for the first time. the cap is a real issue for me and we will have to adjust.[xx(]
