136B: 60-6x- etc

What is this channel for and what do those numbers mean?

As far as I know, this channel or topic gives you information about the antenna you're connected to. 136 would be Zum Bacchus Restaurant, Somerset West, the B indicates which antenna (typically, there's more than one, facing different directions), the numbers following that are further information about the antenna; the configuration and declination etc.
You're in luck, this tower is scheduled for a 3G upgrade as part of MTN's phase two rollout.

@ MTN_DD: We would love further information about this. Is there any way you could give us some details of the Cellular Broadcast Messages that MTN broadcast?

This is used by our radio engineers to see what the cell and antennae tilte, etc are. I don't think this info is up to date any more, However I may be mistaken.
