What does "MTN Roaming" mean on the 8ta connect screen?

On the bottom left corner of the dashboard, next to the bars, it says "MTN Roaming" and HSPA. Any ideas please?

How will this effect their 10GB promo? Will the data used while roaming be deducted from the bundle, or must you pay extra for it?

You won't have access while you're on MTN roaming. The 10GB promo only works when connected to a 8.ta tower.

Where can I find out where the 8ta towers are? I have a 9db aerial for the modem, so should be able to receive a substantial signal, if only I knew where to aim it..

I know with mtn 3G long time ago it use more than one tower to give you data. eg, 1 tower gives you part of your download, other tower the rest, etc. It was like a download manager getting data from sites.
8Ta and mtn and voda still uses 1800mhz, so your modem needs to be nearer than 3 km to the tower. Stop the telkom bakkie and ask him which tower is 8ta.
