They do exceptionally well at billing people for services that has not been installed yet, or services that has been canceled. Everything else they need to work on.

Their LTE service is great.
Their customer service is dismal.

Their call centre has always been helpful. Personally, it's the appointments for technicians, to sort out anything, that cause the problem. I'm not going to blame them because it may be out of their control...

Telkom's integrated data service is the best thing they have ever done. Nobody else have anything that even come close. :)

Telkom should reopen their uncapped LTE products for R599. ;)

*touch wood* have had great service from them. ADSL 24 month contract expires in JAN17. If their fibre offering is not tracking to the Vumatel/CrystalWeb price next year, will definitely move.

Used to have terrible Dsl connectivity until they upgraded the Paulshof exchange. Touchwood have not had a failure on my 20meg vdsl since Sep2014, they sweetened the already discounted package by doubling data. Would like a real time phone app to track and top up data.

Back in the day when Telkom Mobile was separate division to Telkom. Customer support on social media was fantastic nowadays you can wait hours to actually get a response from them...

LTE and Fibre are great
Rollout of Fibre is sssssssslllllllllooooooowwwww

Customer communications are abysmal.

The recent capped promo data time extension debate on this forum is a classic example, only after MyBB users figured out for themselves that it was now permanent as of July 1 did Telkom bother to announce it.

Telkom has great mobile internet service. Especially their 4G LTE service which makes high speed internet a reality in places that does not have fibre installed. They also have great mobile phone contracts and are competitively priced!

They are the worst at customer service and getting you what you want when it comes to mobile phones, they don't order specific models and colours of phones like other providers.

Great mobile specials

But after they deduct the payment and send the SMS, they could improve by actually delivering the handset!

Having the monopoly, Telkom's prices could be more competitive to compensate for the terrible back-up service in maintaining their equipment. They remain 're-active' which means the customer has to complain before a service is rendered to replace their old telephone wires that we've been paying for many a year until the wires are exposed through the brittle sun-baked cable.

for : Good products
against : You can't get them

+1

It is hellish frustrating walking into a Telkom shop with their brochure and sales person says they can't find the deal on their system. Or phoning their call centre to migrate your LTE package to a higher cap, which means they make more money off you, and you have to wait to be 3 months into your contact before they will change it. Why?! Where is the logic :wtf:

Their pricing is decent on fixed lines and mobile. Turn around times have been improving.

I think they can improve getting fixed lines into complexes as they built.
I think they can improve the range of phones they keep in stock at the Telkom mobile stores.
I think they could improve their call centre staff training.
I think they could improve their website.

Don't have any massive complaints - only their website is awful to navigate.

Actually I found their service to be excellent. I'm not even the registered owner of the line and they've always helped when I explain I rent the house with the line in. Maybe it is just the local technician as well but he spent a week trying to figure out why my speeds were inexplicably slow. They just as inexplicably fixed themselves as well and haven't been wrong since, but he tried hard to find the fault.

In a area with no broadband facilities, they managed to make me happy...eventually... but they did.
