Let me first say english is not my language but I will try, to write so everyone can understand so many can get help.

I have a warranty policy with SA warranty for my car, it's 2009 Honda Jazz I pay monthly premium of R359. When I took out the policy last year the sales consultant, told me I'm covered for mechanical and electrical faults.

So lately I noticed that the is something wrong with my front lights, the are all working. The driver's side light does not light that far and it's more bright. I have tried to adjust it nothing still the same.

So Monday I went to Honda to book my car for service, they said the will check the light bulb holder maybe the is something wrong with the machine. So I called SA warranty and told them what is happening.

The consultant told they don't cover things like that. The fix things if my car was standing by the road.

I would like to know what does exactly does warranty cover. I know wear and tears are not covered. But I thought me paying R359 I'm covered for things like this. Since I didn't break anything.

- “mechanical breakdown or electrical failure” means, for the purpose of this
policy, the breaking or burning out of any of the components listed in the Components
Covered section, due to a mechanical breakdown or electrical failure that causes
the component to suddenly stop functioning, needing repair or replacement,

- “
) Wear and tear
For the purpose of this policy, wear and tear is defined as the ongoing weakening
of a mechanical component which results naturally from use and/or age. If your
principal policy is still valid, wear and tear will be covered up to the limit stated
in your principal policy. If your principal policy has expired, then in the event of
wear and tear and/or failure as a result of wear and tear, the amount claimable
will be 50% of the cost of repairs or 50% of the stated benefit amount, whichever
is the lesser amount. Please also refer to the policy Definitions section of what
a mechanical breakdown is, for more clarity

Some of the statement from the policy contract.

Read the contract you signed for the product you signed for.

It will include everything.
