So I chucked my Microsoft wireless keabord and mouse combo off the balcony. I just couldn't stand the absolutely horrible delay, and poor signal quality any longer.

Im back to using a normal wired keabord (works like a dream, will keep it:D), and some crappy R20 mouse

Im thinking of upgrading my mouse to some type of gaming mouse. I am very sceptical about wireless, but will consider it...

My first choice is the Razer diamondback 3G, http://www.razerzone.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_17&products_id=71

Suggestions welcome!!!

I have a Razer Copperhead, and am quite happy with it. I've also used Logitechs and have been quite happy with those too.

heard a lot of things about that razor, very good mouse i'd get it any day if i had the money

I'm still struggling with the G9's grip, it's shape takes some getting used to...

But then again, maybe that's why they're interchangeable? :D

i also quite like the look of the microsoft sidewinder. Have a copperhead personally. Very nice mouse.

im pretty keen to try a gaming mouse - at the mo i have a m$ wireless laser mouse which until now has not been bad.

certainly hasnt dampered my cod4 k2d ratios but i would love to see how a gaming mouse increses performance. judging from comments i have read i think i will attempt the razor series.

Logitch MX518

Best mouse ever...

If you guys now medic from COD4, he plays with one also...

Plus its much cheaper aswell

quick question for you gaming mouse owners.

is a gaming mouse heavy or light?

also what makes it a gaming mouse? extra buttons? extra DPI? How and why should it improve performance for gaming?

sorry for the noobness of this question

A mouse such as the G5 has adjustable weight, so you can have a light, medium or heavy mouse. You can also adjust the weights so that the mouse is a bit heavier on the right-hand side for instance. This helps for gaming if, for example, you know that you always turn too far right during a firefight. It also has on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment.

The idea of what makes a mouse a gaming mouse is debatable, I have always felt that any mouse which is capable of 1,800DPI resolution or higher will probably qualify as a gaming mouse in my book. There is also the aspect of how many reports per second it does, but that gets quite technical...

It's a very difficult question to answer ;)

well the adjustable weight story makes perfect sense - although i usually move my mouse pad more right or left depending if i am mis-aiming. Although i enjoy that as a concept - almost sells the idea in itself.

the only complain i have with my current mouse is it is not sensitive enough - and i do not think the positions of the buttons are 100% for gaming. especially the extra buttons. also the scroller button suxs a55.

hmm - right now i am stuck in xbox land so wont consider a new mouse for a while.

I've used my Logitech MX518 for about 2 years now with not trouble at all.

Whats the point of buying a mouse with 3000DPI when your actually going to set it back to 1200 or 1500, especially for FPS games, the less sensitivity the better.

Also regarding the feel of the mouse, this is going to sound gay but everybody has their own preference when it comes to a mouse, the way it feels in your hand.

The point i'm also trying to make is that buying a mouse worth R1000 isnt going to automatically improve your game...

I would say go with logitech, but as i said everybody has their own preference.

The G5 has a few other tricks, it has teflon feet so it slides better and the cord is also designed so that it does not hook on stuff. You do need a bit of weight, it defs gives you a bit more controll, don't make it too heavy.

G5 FTW
