What happened to 5FM

It died when IanF and Sasha Martinengo left.

Unfortunately though, I fear I may be in the minority when it comes to what I'd like to hear on the radio. Give me Korn, Linkin Park or Metallica over Nicki Minaj or Jack Parow any day...

You aren't alone, a fair number of people would listen to a "rock" station... but I doubt its enough to make the venture economically viable.
 
If it wasn't for DJ Fresh in the morning i would listen to some other morning show
 
5fm certainly does not grow with their audience. Cannot listen to it anymore, I feel to old. I don't 'get' the music anymore. They focus on the fresh out of school generation it appears.
 
I too stopped listening after Gareth left. Fresh is fake and laughs at every stupid thing, Goode tries but nah.
 
I do not listen often but the other day I had same thought, really C**P music, do not get it at all. Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy.

Audiobooks, podcasts, mp3's and a bit of KFM/GHFM (only to listen to the traffic reports).

How much data does audio streaming consume per hour?

There was a small radio station in Cape Town that only did alternative music, AFM, but they didn't last long, which was a pity as they played music to my taste. IIRC they couldn't get enough listeners/subscribers to get a full time broadcast licence.
They had plans to go the DAB route, but haven't heard from them since.
 
Funny all the people saying they stopped listening when Gareth Cliff left, but at the time everyone was saying good riddance...

Use to love Fresh, but new show is ***. Who reads the news, Carmen? She has a double digit IQ and absolutely no presence.

Rest of line up just plain irritating.

Roger ok, but they're overacting the whole thing.
 
I switched to Bush radio and then they fsked that up too when they started (few weeks back) reading messages from listeners on air.

non stop: hashtag boom hashtag boost hashtag crap hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag

I wanna hurl...went back to 5FM.

Fresh brings up rather rude / inappropriate / childish crap all the time... not a fan.
