What happens to wrong box votes?

Saw Zille placing both her ballots in the same box on TV. Today also I was confused as to what box was local, and what box was national. Luckily the observer mentioned it when I was there.

I would imagine the boxes are to make the counters' lives easier. I hope they will sort them even if they are in the wrong box.

That incident was discussed this morning and it doesn't matter. The two ballot sheets are different colours so it will sorted and placed in the correct pile for counting.

If they wanted to make it foolproof they should have colour-coded the boxes to the same colour as the ballot.

Would not be surprised will be interesting once the votes start being counted hopefully after 9 pm.

Not an issue. There is no requirement to use separate boxes for National and Provincial ballots.
