Why bother. Given the current criteria for passing "school" I give it another 5 years and nobody will be able to read any of the names anyway.

The criteria haven't really changed much from 40 years ago.

Changing names of historical places, streets is cheap politics, costs money, and foes bugger all for any group in the country. The fact that they have to rename all dorts of things is a tacit admission on their behalf that they are failures, living in the past an incapable of creating any meaningful history or heritage of their own.

But that is their problem, and has always been. Tough.
