What is MWEB through Open Serve like?

Yeah, I didn't do my research and now I have, it seems like most ISPs offer fibre for 100MB down / 50MB up at the same price I'll be paying for Telkom's 20MB down / 10MB up (R1000/month)

When I can be bothered I'll try make the switch. I've used Webafrica before with good experiences, so would like to go with them again.

Only snag is I'll need to pay for my Telkom router as a penalty most likely

Yeah R1111 gives you a 100/50 line no throttling at all or R900 or less gives you 40/20 line no throttling at all. You are aware you have a throttled product with Telkom right? They are generous so likely you won't be affected but yeah way better deals out there.

If you are talking about the actual landline. Then yes that will no be removed in anyways the Openserve fibre no matter the ISP will be a new separate installation.

ADT can normally do an upgrade that doesn’t require a Landline.. connection depending on areas..

I'm really not sure how ADT works with the line BUT you can use like a ATA device with a FREE Voip provider like Freshphone to have a Voip line. You can even run the router and ONT from the alarm backup battery if you want or get a similar backup battery solution.

That or you can get like a GSM device that works with a simcard instead.

It's a backup channel if rf comms for alarm don't work.. But there are better alternatives and creates noise on adsl or telephone lines anyway..
