Every year we do the same old same old at my parents. Dry gammon with asparagus and trifle.

I want to suggest something new and interesting, any ideas?

The usual... Christmas eve dinner at the in-laws which means I'm braai'ing a turkey and roasting a leg of lamb and a pork neck.

Heat wave and it's traditional food. For crying in a bucket stop trying to be European and do cold foods

Xmas day at SO family....Lamb. boxing day at home....traditional southern Xmas dinner. Turkey, ham, stuffing, candid yams, sweet potatoe pie, pumpkin pie.

Huh? When I am in Germany/Austria/Belgium it's usually bread and cheese, etc. for dinner, lunch is big, not dinner.

on the eve at the in-laws: roast lamb and trimmings, dessert
on the day at home: cold meats and salads, ice cream and some puddings
the day after: braai
