What is the PS3 worth?

Thanks for the reply. So, should I rather make 3 threads, one for the console, one for the games and one for accessories?

I think so, or just create one advert and say splits allowed, but Jedi-Kalins idea sounds better.

Hey Bud, I recently sold my PS3 320GB and games and actually didnt make out too bad.

First thing, DO NOT sell as a bundle, people will offer you peanuts.

Make a list of all your games, check online second hand game prices and make yours competitive (I say R20 lower than the average price). Once you have a list and happy with the prices, advertise them on sagamer, gumtree, OLX, etc. Maybe offer a discount if someone is willing to take multiple games.

Sell your console with any accessories for a set price and maybe throw in a couple games (preferably the oldest ones in your collection)

It will take time but you will eventually make some decent money.

This sounds like a very good plan. If you don't mind me asking; how much did you get for your ps3? If you don't wish to answer that's totally okay.

Are you selling it to generate funds to purchase another console or just for the cash? if you don't need the cash use it as a media box extender for another location in your house. I use mine in the bedroom, with a remote, connected to my file server, works a treat. have not played a game on console in 2 years.

This.

That's not a bad idea; however, I'd rather upgrade my PC as it has been begging for an upgrade for a while now.

Hey Bud, I managed to get 2800 for mine. I did have the following though, PS3 320GB, BluRay remote, 2 controllers, vertical stand, charging station and I also threw in a few games. I was not thrilled at the price considering how much I paid for everything but judging from the offers I received, 2800 was not bad at all.

I think you will make the majority of your cash from your games.

On a side note, I also used the cash I made to upgrade my pc. Got myself a BEAST now ;) Good luck with your sales, remember though that it will take some time for sales to get going.

This

PS3 is brilliant as a media playback device

So, I have a buyer. He wants to do a transfer into my account. Is this safe, or is there a way he can take his money back?

Rather insist on cash. Or did he ask to have it shipped?

I got R2400 for my ps3 slim 320gb not too long ago. One controller, charging and a few games incl. Fifa. Not bad.

He wanted to do a transfer, and inisted that he needed it today. From another thread I learned that it's the scamming way to do an EFT and insist it's urgent. Then when they have the product they cancel the EFT or something to that tune.

Yeah, that's not bad at all. I think I'm going to rather break everything up and sell piece by piece (games apart, console apart, etc.)

Nothing is that urgent. Tell him to take a hike.
