Hey guys, I hope this is in the correct section.

I have a PS3; the 120GB version, the one between the slim one and the first iteration.

Now, my question is, how much is a PS3, two controllers, a move acontroller, an eye, and aroud 40 games worth? And, where would be the best place to sell it. Or rather, the safest place?

Any help will be appreciated :)

Whatever you do, do not go to Cash Converters or Crusaders. I was at a Cash Crusaders on Saturday and there was a guy who sold his PS3 slim with about 5 games and he got R950 for all of it.

Now I'm not sure what the selling price should be but I thought that was a bit low.

I should put a sign up at those places saying I will give people R300 more then Cash Crusaders on things like consoles, laptops, etc :P

It is insane what people will accept from those places!

As for OP's question, would depend massively on your list of games.

Probably in the R3k - R5k region though.

And the condition of games.

I will not buy a disc with a scratch on it, so you may get potential buyers who will want to obtain selected games and with it negotiate the price.

I like walking through Cash Crusaders to see the stuff people pawn. One day I overheard a guy selling a table they gave him R650 for the table. Was back there about 2weeks later they had the table in the store with a price tag of R3550 and said it was "antique oak". People who are willing to sell their stuff at places like this are desperate for money hence they will basically accept what these okes offer them.

Agreed I am OCD with my games, movies, etc. scratches is a big no no.

I suppose it is the nature of the business, "quick" cash is worth more when you need it now.

True! I have seen a couple of items i wouldn't mind buying at these types of places but the though of them screwing people over and making 3+ times profit off some of these thing just puts me off enough to not buy it.

I only ever buy Xbox 360 games, the price them at R99.99 no matter how new they are :D

Thank you for the replies!

I'd never sell to cCash Crusaders. Many years ago I tried to sell 5 newish games to them, and they offered me something like R30 for it - madness.

As for the games, I'm also very pedantic regarding handling, so they are all in very good condition.

Fortunately I'm not really in need of the cash, the console is just in my closet gathering dust so I thought I might as well try and sell it.

Are Bidorbuy and OLX good options?

Thanks again for the input!

I reckon a better bet for you would be SAGamer.co.za and carbonite.co.za

May I ask what games?

Might be better to sell games seperate

I have over 60 games, and on an average resale of R120 a game that is R7200 just for the games. Even at R100 a game that is 6K. I must have spent around R20k on games, let alone the console, eye, controllers, etc. It's just not worth selling.

That is my thinking with my Xbox 360, only bought it a year ago, have 50 odd games, controllers, kinect, etc. Bought a PS4 last week and contemplated selling the Xbox. When I saw what I would get decided to keep it.

About 6 months ago I bought the PS3 with 3 games, 2 remotes and the DvD remote for R 6500 or there about.
