I've given you the setup that suits my houses needs:

Plex (server is run on ultrabook, not shield yet)
Showmax
Kodi
YouTube
Sideload Supersport app

Games currently installed:
Sonic racing
Worms

And use the built in chromecast when Supersport app is full of ****

Come to think of it when we finally move into the new place it may be the ideal opportunity to get a 4k. Just need to decide where to put it. Existing small TV will go to bedroom, existing plasma could go to either TV room or bar. 4k to go where plasma doesn't go

The games I have tried are fine, moans about latency on the check but works fine.

Witcher I want to try from PC to TV and play with the controller.

Just need to find some time.

Your GTX 970 is still good for 1080P 60FPS at medium.

The SHIELD has a Steam Link basically built in and you can use NVIDIA GameStream.

Problem is I'm running Linux at the moment
