what is this icon all about ?

has this got anything to do with memory/virtual memory etc
 
Looks like a low battery icon. Laptop?. (Laptop dead yet LOL)..Else its memory warning or drive space is low on C drive
 
Nope, my money is on malware... If it were any of the above suggestions it would have proper notifications. Get superantispyware, they've got a free version and it works better than most of the AV packages at removing malware/spyware etc.
 
That is a generic windows icon afaik. Used to indicate all kinds of stuff. Low mem. Low battery. Low HDD.

Mouse over should give an infotip with the details though so dunno what going on. Its possible that some app copied the icon.

Check your event log. ;)
 
When I see that message on my work computer it usually has an accompanying popup message. It tells me Virtual memory is low. blah blah blah
