What is your fuel consumption?

Need to check but I think I get around a half a gazillion k/l on my 400 suzuki bandit. R80 gets me from Blouberg to paarden eiland and back for the whole week.
 
Kia Sportage 2.0 Petrol

Average 8.9l/100km but I do have a heavy foot and with a fair amount of town driving.
If using cruise control at 120km/h I get 7.6l/100km
 
Corsa 1.8 GSi

10l/100km town
6.5l/100km open road (AC on)
 
2008 Polo 1.9tdi

Open Road 4.8l/100kms
Everday driving 5.5l/100kms (i do a total of 50kms a day to work and back, 95% freeway)
 
Combined I get about 12km/l or 8.33l per 100kms.

That's doing 95kms a day(work and back), with the majority being highway(although half of that highway is me sitting at 30km/h in traffic).

Audi A3 1.8(old 8L version(1998) non turbo).

Monthly mileage is normally between 2700kms and 3000kms, fuel bill is between R2300 and R2500.
 
Almost exclusive city driving. 38km a day, of which about 10km is in 5th gear doing 80 - 100 km/h, while the rest is negotiating 16 traffic lights & 4 stop streets. On the trip home, aside from the 5km where I can actually get into 5th gear, I'm moving between 1st and 3rd gears.

6.5 to 7.4 litres per 100km. Roughly 500-550 km on 36-37 litres of juice. My car's fuel light is over-eager and it comes on when I have about 8-9 litres left. I could probably get near 600km on 45 litres around town and easily push ~750 on a run down to the coast.

Pain. Just out of interest, have you ever considered relocating closer to work? I'm curious about this because that is an obscene amount of money on gas.
 
No highway, mixed conditions.

Home to work (mainly uphill, relaxed) - 9l / 100km
Home to work (turbo boost) - 11l / 100km
Work to home (relaxed) - 6,5l / 100km
Work to home (stop-start) - 8l / 100km
Total gridlock - 11,5l / 100 km
Highway - 7-8l / 100 km

Now I don't know if my car was in bad shape, although it had a full service history and I replaced the fuel pump and refurbed the injectors, but my old 2000 1.6 GSi was pushing 11l/100km around town. I was lucky to get 400 km on 45 litres of petrol. And I was not attempting to set land speed records with it, quite the opposite, I was driving like an old woman in an attempt to curb it's love of petrol.

I have, although then other cost factors come into play. That being said, if I get up an hour earlier and leave work an hour later I could probably drop that bill by around R450 a month by avoiding the traffic and doing less mileage on weekends.

Worst though, when this open road tolling comes into play, that's another R800ish down the pipes to get to work and back.

That failing I'll see if I can setup a bed in the office. :whistle:

everyone asks me " is the car heavy on fuel".. coz its a bug car uh..

city driving easy 4ways to sunninghill in the most insane traffic- i mean 11kms takes 45mins...
i get 10L/100kms... ( about 550kms per tank 55L )
that aint so bad?

but long road she shines... 140-160km/h on cruise control..
7.8L/100kms.. ( about 700kms per tank 55L )

i have removed the big catalytic converter it comes with, and replaced with a "mini cat" and it has made a huge difference with better fuel consumption and better/more responsive performance.
if you r car is out of factory warranty, DO IT!

compare the above to my old golf 5 gti.
traffic:12L/100kms
highway:10L/100kms.
driven like a gti should be...

City Driving: 13 l/100km....450kms per tank
Highway: 9 l/100km....650kms per tank

Previous Car: BMW E90 325i Manual 60l tank

City Driving: 10.5 l/100km....570kms per tank
Highway: 8 l/100km....750kms per tank

Highway: 9 l/100km....650kms per tank

Previous Car: GOLF IV GTi Manual (1.8 Turbo 55l tank

City Driving: 8 l/100km....680kms per tank
Highway: 7.5 l/100km....730kms per tank

The GOLF GTi was th best car in terms of performance/fuel consumption....
 
I get about 8.5 litre's per 100km in town driving and about 7.0 on the highways.

I average about 12l/100km per month. I only reset once a month.

So it is a combination of highway, traffic, and spirited driving.

Not bad for 6L !
