Im moving away from mweb uncapped in 3 days, my usage is between 150gb and max 190gb per month and currently i have a 6mb line which im considering changing to 8 or 10mbps.
I have been testing axxess 20gb + 20gb which was a dream in speed compared to the uncapped account. Unfortunately their prices are also to expensive looking at 200gb + DSL line at around R900+
Mweb 200 + line also to expensive
Crystal web and webafrica are 2 other options i am considering but unfortunately i don't know anyone whom have any experience with them.
another affordable one, is the 100 + 100gb from afrihost, but previously when i was with them there was constant authentication issues which affected my gaming and i rage quite them about 3 years ago, and what i have heard seems they are having similar issues now.

My basic not-negotional needs include, video streaming, p2p, VPN and especially gaming.

Why am i here, I need your opinions for a reliable not throttled/shapped day and night 200gb capped + 8mb or 10mb DSL @ R700 - R800p/m

Crystal Web 150GB Home Capped includes unlimited, free midnight express data. So most customers can get away with a smaller capped account on that basis and save a decent amount of money because usage between midnight and 6am don't count towards your cap. Total cost of 150GB Home Capped and 10Mbps DSL line with Crystal Web is R764 per month.

Crystal Web is also the top rated ISP in SA right now, ad has been for 3 quarters in 2015, and there's a feedback thread on this forum where you can ask current users about their experience if you need more convincing...:)

What time do you use/need your data? And where are you based?

Vox, Fatpipe Lite 25gb + Bolt-on @ R148 per month excluding line rental, rate limited to 10mb so add R425 odd for 10mb line.

EDIT: Let me explain how Bolt-on works. It's essentially uncapped and unshaped internet, rate limited to 10mb but only active off peak. Off peak is defined as 6pm to 6am weekdays (so Monday to Friday) and all weekend. That's 6pm Friday evening till Monday morning 6am.

If you are enjoying Axxess their 200gig option is R379, R20 cheaper the Afrihost (https://www.axxess.co.za/adsl) they are my ISP of choice at the moment.

CW I have heard good things about but haven't tried them.

Webafrica is ok but I definitely wouldn't go with them.

Maybe also consider Vox because they have capped products during the day and uncapped from 12pm-7am. So you always get good speeds and if scheduled right use double the amount of data you need.

That said if daytime p2p downloads are important to you, rather move away from MWEB. Though the capped accounts are better than the uncapped ones in this regard.

I had a 40mbps uncapped business vdsl account with Afrihost and could hardly stream Netflix and Hulu. They consistently have performance issues in the last few months of the year (speaking from my last 3 years experience with them). The pattern of excuses for those months are as follows:
1. A major update like IOS, Android or Windows is causing strain on the network.
2. Their is a fault on the network which takes about a month to figure out.
3. The fault is actually that they don't have enough IPC capacity.
4. The IPC upgrade needs to be done by Telkom and takes a while for the order to be compled.
5. Telkom keeps missing the scheduled upgrade dates.

Anyway, when it happened again this year, I jumped shipped and went to Web Africa. Got myself the Home 90GB anytime + 360GB account and haven't been happier as I'm able to stream without any issues now on a 2mbps connection.

Well today after nearly 2 years with Afrihost I started the move away process and got myself a Vox 75 gig Fatpipe account with free midnight data and data rollover for R189 pm.
Will see how this lot goes :)
Just a pity Crystalweb does not have a smaller capped package.

We do. If you chat with an agent on live chat they can assist with the 70GB package with unlimited midnight express data as well...

Pity it's not advertised on your website else you would have had another customer today :)

Just shows how bad the AH connection has got, not fast enough to make one post :(
