One of the things I didn't miss about Gauteng was traffic...

So what really keeps you going on that hectic afternoon besides the radio, sometimes they will play some dreadful tracks that will really tick you off...

Help me cope what is on your playlist whilst on traffic??? and why that track!

A playlist in my car, with Led Zeppelin, White Stripes, Black Keys, Kings of Leon, RHCP, Slipknot, Arcade Fire, Metallica etc

What helps is that some songs are 7min+ in length, so by the time the song is finished, you don't realise you've been sitting still for such a long time.

I would die if had to listen to 5fm or Jacaranda or Highveld.

Playing mix 375 and 317 by Lars Behrenroth, Deephouse at its best

I take a book with and enjoy reading while in traffic.

Just joking. My radio is USB enabled thus I change the music often enough. I have now started to listen to Audio books while in traffic and it is doing my road rage wonders :)

My car has a lack of MP3/USB support and the CD player has trouble reading a lot of CDs. Fml. Luckily the amount of times I had to leave during peak hour traffic this year was maybe once a week. I think longest time to get home was just over an hour...Keep in mind that was to travel 10km >.<

I think audio books are an option but if you are really into book or else you will doze off as I nearly did listening to the news last week :erm: currently I am pumping Drake through my speakers I even forget I am on traffic... Didn't know I liked Hip Hop until I gave him an ear...

In traffic. If you were on traffic either you are snorting traffic or you some guy will need to clean his car's roof because you left tyre marks on it :p:D

We have an office car that cover's +-130km each day , 4 of us, 2 ladies share driving in the morning and I drive every evening, +-65km back to our other office.
3rd most dangerous road in Eastern Cape and I see why every day...actually very stress full.
Then you come into East London and meet rush hour traffic!
The fourth lady Zikhona has failed her driver's license 2 times this year already but judging from her attitude towards helping with anything I'm not surprised.

One thing you don't need to keep you company is anything drinkable, you don't know how long are you going to be in traffic unless you are an exhibitionist :D

Seen some hectic stuff I ain't proud off and I had no choice... No wonder I am wearing glasses...

Back to school hour now Super Grandmaster :o ... My Bad :D

O is next to I...

Haha, sorry i just had to :p

And no only a 500ml bottle of water is always in my car as drinking beer and driving is not cool at all, you might spill your drink.

That sucks so bad, an hour to drive 10km -_- I know the feeling!

Sometime during this year, there was a week of awfully sh*t traffic. It took me between 1 hour - 1,5 hours to drive about 8km every single (week)day of that week. I was so annoyed, and the worst was the day that it took me an hour and a half was the day that I got drenched in a storm. So bad that the water was actually dripping off my clothes lol. To top that off, before I even left Wits the storm stopped. To make that day even better, by the time I got home, my clothes were almost dry (had the fan on blowing warm air in the car).

What keeps me company in the car is my iPod plugged into the radio (I'll cry if I have to listen to the Justin Bieber's that they play on the radio). My latest playlist has drum and bass, dubstep, trance and a few songs from The Dead Weather and System of a Down.

I thank Kia every day for including a USB MP3 player in my car, along with controls on the steering wheel. That said, the only thing that keeps me sane is to leave home by 5am, so that I can be back home by 4pm. Nothing else keeps me sane in traffic: not classic, hip-hop, rock, ambient, psy, DnB, house, pop, jazz nor opera
:D

I listen to audiobooks.... either that or the radio. I like the taking, it keeps me company.

Audiobooks FTW. Especially if its a good audiobook. I find I drive more relaxed because I dont see the time as wasted anymore.

I'm busy with Book 2 of The Dresden files.

Lately, I stick to either Gogol Bordello or a whole range of trance (mostly psy and prog). But sometimes I just jam some SOAD, Offspring or Metallica.

Then there is always 702 (cant handle the crap that is played on 5fm/94.7/kakaranda). And in this way I at least have an idea of what is going on in the world around me :P
