I am getting slightly Gatvol at replacing LED lights, I mostly use Lumaglo from Checkers and they are not as long living as I would like, same experience with PnP noname and Philips (Both are made in Lesotho..). Majority of my light fittings are open and well ventilated.

I’ve found the Flash brand from Brights to not only offer more options for less money but to also last quite well.

I've never had an LED bulb die on me in +- 10 years. Various brands, from Osram to Verbatim to cheap PnP specials.

What voltage is your mains running at?

I think its more about the quality of then vs now.
I replaced all +- 60 downlighters in house about 15 years ago. The bulbs cost over R100 each those years. I have only lost 3 on 15 years. But the newer once fails easier.

Bought these last year sometime. Used 6. Not a single failure as yet

Check this out on takealot: 10 Pack - LED 7w Light Bulb E27 (screw)

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet but I only buy Philips led globes

The Osram led bulbs are not that great and will fail after a year or two.

They use a cheap design for the power electronics and it is not able to handle the heat.

Tried Eurolux,Osram and Sylvania,they are all GU10s.
For the last year the lights in the lounge flicker every so often and in 10 years never had this problem.
The lounge lights are on a dimmer.
I have changed the dimmer three times now and had an electrician come out twice and he can't solve the problem
Can anyone suggest what could cause this ?
Our bedroom has the same dimmer switch and in eleven years never had an issue with it.
