My Asus EX-A320 mobo says it supports these: 4x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 2666/2400/2133 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

Now i want to know what is the cheapest ram i can put into the motherboard and will it detect ram at 1333mhz ?
i want to put in 16gb ram.

I need to buy cheap ram just for now, later when i can afford it i would like to upgrade.

Thanks what i mean is compatibility, if i get say 2400 mhz chips, is it a stroke of luck getting them to be read by the mobo (i'm saying this because i have tried different brands of memory in the past) and some were not detected. Is there a list of compatible memory sticks somewhere on the net with motherboard brands.

Also if i go below the mentioned speeds, such as say 1800 or 1600 or even 1333mhz speeds, will it be detected (perhaps ddr4 does not come out with speeds lower than 2133mhz ?)

Speeds lower than what is shown as supported will not be detected as far as I know. Anything between should be fine, up to the highest it supports. If you board supports 2133 mhz , 2400 and 3200 for example, 2600 mhz ram will also be supported.

WAslayer has also linked all the supported ram types per mobo.
