Ehhmmm.....
And just as you say that, Samsung have to recall their super duper world beating, battery exploding - flagship Galaxy Note 7 phone ;-)

A bad battery doesn't suddenly mean the build quality or quality of the other components is suddenly crap. As much as I would love to rub the Samsung fanboys noses in it, any company can be caught with a problem with Li-ion batteries as none of the big makers produce their own battery cells and are reliant on the actual maker having good QC.

Go check on how fragile this thing is in a bend test. Guy barely bends it and it snaps in 2. Spec-to-price ratio is good, but build quality is soooo bad
Comes with a 2 year warranty. Just take it back then. Got no problems with my ReMi Note 2 even with it's plastic back. No squeaks or anything like my old Samsung. Got it in my jeans with earphones and I bath with it in my hand no problem.

If they rely only on the suppliers QC of components I would be apprehensive to buy their products.

Yeah. All cars must be crap now because of Takata selling defective airbags.

Yea.. they scratch easy too :p

It would bend by itself in your pocket supposedly...

The problem is it doesn't bend much.. it snaps. it bends ever so slightly then just snaps. The ceramic is super fragile

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2jav7UdQtE 1:52 - I've used more force to break a crunchie in half....... I wouldn't touch a Mi5 if it was priced at R3k......

Most phones are made in China including Samsung who also make "budget" phones.... they are just not very good at it! Although the Note 7 may become a budget phone. The phone landscape is dynamic : last year Huawei were making budget phones now they making "flag Ships"

My old man just bought 2 Mi3's. I played around with one on the weekend. Nice piece of kit for the price. Just needs nova installed, cause that miui version is super ****ty.

Dropped my Nexus 5 on a concrete floor and it cracked. So seems I will be getting the 5X now.

Just ignore any advice about getting a Xiaomi unless you're on the poverty line
