Just a random question

After removing my wisdom and trying to sleep in a position which will provide me most comfort (failing at times), I noticed that I mostly fall asleep while resting on my left side. I think this is mostly due to when I'm in bed I'm randomly scrolling websites on my phone and Opera only goes to into landscape view when my phone is in a certain position. Before this I would usually fall asleep while on my stomach

Sometimes on my stomach, most times on my side. Don't usually sleep on my back because it takes too long, more than half an hour to fall asleep, so I get frustrated and move back to the usual position.

When I do manage to sleep on my back though, I feel really well rested than sleeping in other positions. Aarggghhh >.<

I like to sleep on my back.

Unfortunately with my sleep apnea my soft throat tissue collapses in this position. A side effect of this is that I swallow alot of air when I gasp and in the mornings my stomach is quite destended.

No idea. Will have to film it.

How do people know the position(s) they sleep in during the night?

I go to sleep and wake up in the same position.....
and my g/f tells me

On my chest... I cant fall asleep on my back, my sides are an option, but then lying on my arm and knees against each other becomes very annoying.

So ja CHEST!

If in I'm not mistaken. The healthiest position for the heart is to sleep on your right. If I find the article will post.

Yeah, it is if you're not sleeping on your back. Sleeping on your left makes your heart pound after a while. Lying on your stomach is very bad for your back so should be avoided at all costs - ask me, I only started sleeping on my back and sides in the last couple of years.

I sleep on my right side, in a (forward) tilted position. Usually. If its not the right, then its the left. I hate sleeping on my back, its painful and meh.

Sometimes I sleep on my stomach, with my neck turned to either side (usually the right), but when I wake I'm in pain.

Lately, due to the plethora of piercings I've gotten, my sleeping positions have been quite awkward. Although for awkward positions my worst one was sleeping whilst sitting up with my forehead resting on a bedside table and my shoulder against a wall. I had chickenpox :p

I've also got sleep apnea, my stomach never distends though... Is this common?

I sleep on my right side most of the time. Sometimes left. Never on back or stomach.

Strange thing that I haven't seen anyone else does is while sleeping on my side I have my head on my arm in a V shape and a cushion between my arm and head. Can't sleep any other way.

Found this.

The Foetus: Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.
This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

Log (15%): Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.
The yearner (13%): People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.
Soldier (8%): Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.
Freefall (7%): Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.
Starfish (5%): Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.

I like to sleep in the Soldier position. Although to get a good nights sleep I have to be in the Yearner position.
