What power supply for loadshedding

I do not understand anything about electricity or voltage, wattage all the jargon. However I am looking for someone to explain to me in relatively simple terms. I work from home and when load shedding hits I would like to keep my fibre wifi connected and maybe charge my laptop should the battery die before the 4 hours is up. I don't have a lot of money and I had seen the UPS they have on takealot etc, but someone mentioned they are not the best. Anyone knowledgeable in this field please assist. At this point I don't need to power up the lights etc. Will move to that when my financial status changes. Thanks
