Buy somewhere else or PM me. ;)

The only benefit of the Club 3D is that it is partially modular. Otherwise the TX750V2 blows it out the water.

If you need semi modular then the Corsair HX650 (with 7yr warranty) would be a better buy. About R150 more than the Club 3D. It's also more powerful and efficient than the Club3D.

Gigabyte Odin's are fine for most people. About the same as the Cooler Master EP. They are known to be low quality though. I've read lots of reports of the Odin 575watt breaking.

Enthusiasts and people with a larger budget would and should only touch the Odin GT series.

The standard odin's are actually worse than the coolermaster EP. The Odin gt range is much better.

received my swop out today. CM GX 750W bronze certified. prod code RS750ACAAD3...

What did you end up getting originally? Corsair CX500? Fill us in.

had an OCZ game extreme 700w which packed in. supplier couldn't replace with same so gave me an equivalent psu. I actually think this one is better. 5 year warranty, bronze certified.

Not sure, but the GX Series is not much to write home about. Failed quite a few tests, something about maintaining consistent volts/ripple IIRC. Pada or QwikSilver could explain.

Basically, the 5yr warranty is about the only thing it has going for it.

But it should work well. If it lasts longer than 5 years, it would have been much of a muchness from the start.

That's the version by Enhance.

I've been checking up about these ones, but haven't seen anything on the 750W unit. The 650 seems to be a mixed bag, definitely far better ripple than the old Seventeam GX units, but a saw a couple of reviews that said regulation on the 5v and 3.3v wasn't that great, though another review didn't see this issue at all.

Should be fine, imo.

Here's the review regarding that Coolermaster GX750, where it got pretty poor results at high loads: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-GX-750-W-Power-Supply-Review/917/7
The GX750 is fine for low loads, but as soon as you're pulling more than 450W from it, the noise/ripples on the 3.3V & 5V rails are more than what the ATX specifications allow.
450W is quite a lot actually. Like you can run an i7 950 + 2x GTX460's and still be below 450W, but when you overclock both the CPU & graphics cards, you can easily exceed 450W and end up at like 520W.

A better/more similar PSU would've been the Corsair GS700, since it can actually deliver 700W and it also has a 3yr warranty like the OCZ GameXtreme 700W.

i saw that in this thread earlier, you were not too happy with CM's, but there was one poster who commented that the earlier editions were not reliable and to get the ones ending with a D serial number would be okay. Well I have got that without spending a cent, so will give it a try.
Thanks for the advice.

Rudimental is correct that the review (which I posted a link to) had a GX750 made by Seventeam, where as the one that you've got is made by Enhance, so there is a slight chance that those issues don't exist with your model.

What are you running (PC specs...) from that PSU?

asus p5q, q 9550, ati hd 6950 2G ( not unlocked yet), 5g ram ddr2 (bit of a mix here but all same timings), 1 tb wd green, 1 x 500g seagate, lg 20x dvdrw, scanner, printer , webcam

That PC will probably not draw more than 450W (even if you OC both the GPU & CPU), so you would be more than fine with that PSU.
You might want to unlock the shaders on that graphics card, and overclock your CPU if you have an aftermarket cooler. I won't recommend trying to fully unlock the HD6950 to an HD6970, due to the memory of the HD6950 not being designed for the HD6970's speeds & voltages.

The screen, scanner & printer doesn't draw any power from the PSU, so they're irrelevant :)
