I'm glad for Obama's socialistic views. The market has to be regulated more. He was kind of clear about that, and the people voted for him, so it's what they want. I'm glad.
I don't think you understand. South Africa is extremely underdeveloped - we need the open market. America has the entire economic infrastructure in place, so they can nationalize a bit (responsibly) to cut capitilizing prices. So almost the whole Europe is socialist, and it really helped them a lot. People need to understand you can't cling to one model always. The environment changes and you need to adapt accordingly. If South Africa goes capitalist now that would be really good, but then when we're fully industrialized like the US or EU then socialism must start to kick in. But all on a continuous basis. There isn't one definite model that works the best. And Barack is the one that most realized that, so yay for him.
