South Africans' accents are relatively easy to understand. Research shows that Americans can more easily understand South Africans speaking English than they can Indians.

I think just about any accent is easier to understand than an Indian one
Had a contracter from India, he was good at what he did, but you couldn't understand a word, and neither could he understand everything you were saying, total communications breakdown. Was funny actually.

Lol when i worked in the states we had a conference call once with a Indian It guy whom was supposed to download some data for us. He kept on saying he is going to "take a dump on the data " then send us the the dump. In the middle of the call we all had to leave the office to laugh outside...

BPO is a very good opportunity to create jobs .SA will likely continue to lose some more jobs in the manufacturing sector (eg, textiles......),where we lack global-competitiveness.The task is to replace those lost jobs with new ones where SA has a unique advantages,(better accent,similar time zone as EU)
The GOV need to make SA a safe place for global entrepreneures to do businesses here.
