Alright decided I'd like to hear other people's opinions, some will give advice, some will send it offtopic, have fun whilst doing so.

Summary
I've recently decided to start doing some PvE on my warrior, after not really raiding ever since I restarted WoW which was about when ToC was released for some time. I've mostly played casual and some arena. I've never played a warrior before in TBC or Classic, back then I played mostly a rogue. I think I have figured out the rotation, or rather priority of abilities I spend my global cooldown on, as well as how to spend extra rage that would go unused otherwise.

Objective
To increase DPS output as much as possible

Character
Link: eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?cn=Ehl&r=Sylvanas
Class: Warrior
Role: Fury DPS

What I have done recently
Used RAWR to completely regem the character, it should give me another 200-300dps

Recount Stats
This is the last VoA25 I did, before the regem, but mostly the same gear. At that time I was way over armpen cap after needle proc so that got fixed with the complete regem.

VoA 25 Recount: http://www.restricted.co.za/upload/WoWScrnShot_090110_202328.jpg

What I want from you?
Your opinion on what I can do 1st to see maximum increase.

What I think I know
- I need to replace my PvP neck and ring a.s.a.p. with something better
- Greatness and Wodin can potentially be a huge DPS increase
- At some point I will want to switch from the str to agi version of the ICC ring, both RAWR and posts I saw around suggests this.

Cool so lemme know what your thoughts are!

i see your herioc strike is low on dmg meter, each main hand strike should be herioc strike, our main warr top dmg is hs mostly :)

you are hard capped arpen? with dbw etc

really helsp and big weps shadows edge and cryptmaker is nice weps.

remember voa boss have less armour you will do more dmg there then most places ,ofc icc 30% you do insane, best togc25 for dps check.

Yeah if you check the details again, I used both HS and Cleave, Cleave for when the frosties are near melee dps and boss, ie. in range of cleave. It adds a bit more dps + helps the ranged dps to kill them faster. So I did 13% cleave and 13% HS, which closely adds up to 26% which will be more than the 20% of WW placing it rigtht at the top. Still thank you for the advice, I do try to change most of my mainhand swings into a HS if its a single target.

Additionally, my armory link is in the main post, I just removed the http:// part infront, I already have Shadow's Edge in my MH and the Battered Hilt weapon in my OH. If I am ever lucky to get Brynntoll or the later mace in ICC25, it would go MH moving SE to my OH.

Yeah if the FoS5 Needle trinket proc I am over armpen cap.

I honestly do not know enough about warrior dps to make one comment that might even help you one bit, however, speak to "moolat" our local warrior dps nub in DBT.
If anything, he will definately give you solid advice on dps rotations on our crap latency... he does pretty decent dps.

Wait till you see the warrior dps spreadsheet... pretty chaos.

Maybe not a bad idea, will see if I can get in contact with him. I don't find the latency a huge problem, except GCDs feel slow but thats the usual on all classes. I think my rotations are good though, it can't but much different from what is suggested on tankspot.

What I really need, is good tips on which items to shoot for next or replace 1st at this point in time to get to the 10k+ dps mark.

atleast u got fos trinket i gave up on it long ago :(
Yeah I can imagine how people go on about the fos trinket, lost it 1st drop to a DK tank.

As far as I know, the spreadsheet will give you an indication of how much of a dps increase certain items are, so that you can plan your gearing path going forward. The one I saw, had a gear planning section in it, think he got his from EJ.

Having played DPS Warrior as main since BC (both Arms and Fury) i've spent tons of time doing homework and comparing notes with fellow Warriors, so i reckon i could give you fair advice.

Goal:

#1 Expertise and HR capped ofcourse
#2 Get 100% Passive ARP
#3 Aim for about 50% Crit raid buffed.
#4 +4500 AP Unbuffed

Now:

You only need 5% HR from gear as the Precision talents gives you 3%.
Throw the Needle Trinket in the ocean asap, its proc rate is lower than the Nax equivalent.
Regem Max ARP.
Get the ARP Trinket from ToC5.

T10 in due time and you will win.

Looks like sound advice. I was around 918 arp before I regemmed, but ofc the regem was because of the needle.

Anyways, will change that again, lost the roll with only 2 in pug last night for DBW as sad as that may be but I will see it again.

Thanks, I will check back once gear change after some lucky drops.

Apparently heroic strike should never be spammed, because you pay the cost of rage for using the spell +the next swing that HS does, gives no rage. Use HS to dump rage. If you spam it you could have insufficient rage for whirlwind and/bloodthirst when they are available. In terms if stats, get hit rating and expertise capped and then focus on armor pen. I found generally that items at about level 219 - 232 have crap expertise and therefore force you gem expertise to reach cap. 251 - 264 gear allows geming for arp. I initially gemmed for str, but since focusing on keeping expertise capped(hit rating cap us easily reached), and arp, my dps on Rotgut 25man was about 7.5k. I don't have any T10 gear as I switched from tanking recently. My dps should improve as I pick up more ICC items and replace my Wrynns dps leggings with T10. About 30 badges to go :)

Tinuva, your slam seems a bit low. Are you using all the instant slam proc's. This should take priority over HS. Of course this might be normal, but 5.2% seems a low number. Instant slam should come up about 25%???(but 25% proc rate doesn't mean the same share of dps)

We have a 10man ICC tonight I'll make a note of how much my slam does

Remember he doesn't have the Set bonus yet, so getting alot less procs.

With gear you'll be able to spam HS on just about every hit. I even made a macro + AutoHotkey so i can simply hold down my HS button instead of mashing HS and then just press BT/WW/Slam when they're off CD.

Yeah, if I don't spam HS, I will literally stay on 100 rage the whole time. I did a test by hitting a critter, 1 hit and my rage goes up to roughly 75-85.

I have noticed somehow I did end up below the expertise cap, which I will fix. After that I will start saving badges to get the T10 gear and also be on the lookout for fixing my trinkets. Sadly a lot of this will take some time but it should get there with time.

The slam procs I take as I get them, but from what I read, WW and BT takes preference over everything else when you use your GCD every time its available. WW->BT->Slam(if available)->Execute is the order I found from reading posts and HS gets spammed because I generally have too much rage, but if I do see my rage dump below 40-50 thats the 1st thing that will get dropped to ensure I keep WW-BT going.

There is a nice slam macro somewhere on the web which allows you to spam it without getting penalised by the global cooldown if it's not instant cast. Google it. Another tip is to "double pot" speed potions. Get the rl or tank to do a countdown before pulling so that you pop bloodrage 5 seconds before and the speed pot immediately after but before combat, then intercept to boss like a madman and hit one of 2/3 min cooldowns and go whirlwind. Absolute joy. If you survive this, then you time your 2nd speed pot for a heroism.

On fights like Suarfang and the Lich King himself there is a convenient timer. It takes practice though. I once got 1 shotted by the LK cause I popped bloodrage as combat started. If course I blamed the tank :)

The macro is as follow

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast slam
/stopcasting
/startattack

That will make sure any time you hit that key, your character will not stop attacking to cast slam but rather try an instant attack

Been there, done that alot. Got the Rocket Boots to GTFO while the tank freaks out and taunts a second later ;)

Hahaha I have done that as well...not on the LK but definitely on another, got the badge and learned my lesson :)

ps. thanx for the slam macro, now I just need to find a home for it in my house of macros *grin*

Is fury far superior than arms? I just find arms much easier to play ^_^

I'd say if you have poor gear arms is better, but once you have better gear fury just by far becomes easier to do high dps with. Also I like the fact that fury dps in zerker stance as opposed to arms that dps in battle stance. It means I can intercept without stance dancing as well as use pummel without stance dancing (ie. interupt, much like what rogues will do with kick).
