What should I do next?

I use arms due to the fact that I do a lot of PvP. Seen a lot of warrior discussions, will see if I can get a fury rotation. My main spec is tanking, so its hard to pvp with fury ^_^

What is good gear? 251 set or higher? and anything below stay arms?

I'd say if you have poor gear arms is better, but once you have better gear fury just by far becomes easier to do high dps with. Also I like the fact that fury dps in zerker stance as opposed to arms that dps in battle stance. It means I can intercept without stance dancing as well as use pummel without stance dancing (ie. interupt, much like what rogues will do with kick).

Yeah, what Tinuva said.
Even though i've been as staunch an Arms Warrior for as long as possible, i finally gave in [quite a while ago] since it just wasn't comparable to Fury.
Reasons:
#1 Fury can move while DPS'ing, Arms can't. This is a huge nerf which affects most ICC encounters.
#2 The Arms spec simply does less DPS than Fury.

I really hope Blizzard fixes it with Cataclysm...

yea, and while they're at it, nerf rage regeneration in ICC >< that is wholly unfair especially when the warrior has shadowmourne.

Looks like 1h duelwield fury is going to be popular again in Cata, unless something give titan-grip another boost. What I do like about 2 2H is the stat boost that came with it.

Here is an update, my gear haven't changed much, but some more tweaking and a bit of tinkering this is what I happened to manage on 1st boss in ICC25.

I found that rather silly... Wotlk comes out pushing the ability to dual wield 2h - finally something unique, then next expac 1h dw will be favorable

Titans grip vs Single minded fury comparison

the eighty billion dollar question for fury warriors with cataclysm is which is better. So let's discuss.

All calculations are done with the following parameters:
15000 AP
1h uses 2x BS axes
TG uses 2x BS polearm

Auto attack DPS:
since AP would play the same part in auto attack DPS (1DPS=AP/14) it can be ignored.
1h:
1.2(462.3+0.75(462.3))=970.83 DPS

TG:
0.9(623.3+.75(623.3))=981.6975 DPS

For auto attack DPS TG wins by 10.5375 DPS

Now because 1h fury causes slam and cleave to hit with both weapons, we must also compare that.

Slam: bonus damage is being ignored because there isn't an accurate tooltip for slam at 85
1h
1.2(((15000/14)*2.6+1202)+0.75(((15000/14)*2.6)+1202))= 8374 damage

TG
0.9((15000/14)*3.5+2181.5)=5338.35 damage

Difference= 3035.65 damage per slam gain from single minded fury.

It is also important to note that because slam will hit twice, that give you 2 chances per slam to get a free Victory rush.

0.8*0.8=64% chance to not get a VR proc.
1-.64= 36% change to get a VR proc.

this means that you will get 16% more VR's from slams as 1h fury.

Cleave:
1h
1.2((0.15(15000)+6)+0.75(0.15(15000)+6))=4737.6 damage

TG
0.9((0.15(15000)+6)=2030.4 damage

1h fury does 2.33 times more damaage than TG fury does with cleave, and the scaling is purely based off of AP.

Unless the stat differences between 1handers and 2handers get drastically larger, it's looking like 1h fury is going to be the way to go. you lose some stats on your weapons and a tiny amount of auto attack DPS but gain so much more damage from everything else, AND because you are hitting more often rage generation will be smoother, making it easier to play.

So far TG is only looking aesthetic for Cata
