What should I sell this for?

When I say R3000 I say it because I consider it as a reasonable price. I have more or less the same specs machine (except 8gb memory). He also did not say it was a rig. Only a few components.

I think everyone gathered it's just the components as that's all that's listed. R3000 would be a rip off to him, a new Q6600 alone at retail prices costs R2600+ (R2700+ was the cheapest I remember seeing last month, not many places seem to be selling them lately), the cheapest 8800GT 512MB I see around is about R1800, that's already R4400 new without a good motherboard, 4GB RAM and a 500W PSU. Heck R4000 would be a bargain for all that.

No offence zamicro but when you sell your PC let me know :D

Ok... lets see... very important factor in this whole thing... The stuff is 2nd hand....

You cannot compare new prices to it.. and given that PC's depreciate at 33% per year according to SARS (at the very least).. Plus, it was bought at a shop that might not be convenient for the buyer... etc etc.... these all devalue components quite significantly.

Very true.

So it is one year old.. So I should see what it cost me and then subtract 33% According to SARS?

It would then be more than R 4500-00

Just an example :)

The less 33% is but a part of the devaluation MyPro-D...

Computer parts lose at the very least 50% of their value in the first year in this country... There is practically no 2nd hand market.

Haha Toxic im just saying :)
I totally agree with you that there is not really a market for it.
The reason why I asked the question is because I did not want to rip anyone off and try and sell them something that is not worth the money (thats my day job) XD
I just wanted to know id 4.5k was a decent price to ask and it seems that it is fair.

Looking at esquire prices since all myBB members can buy there:
Q6600 CPU R2392.86
9800GT R1594.86
2GB 800mhz R181.26 x 2
500w power R363.66
Total: R4713.9

The screencard is the 9800 instead of 8800 so keep this in mind and I did not add the motherboard (no idee what value to use: R500-R1000?).

So for R4700+R1000=R5700 you can buy it brand new, (except m/b). For some people it might be worth R4500. For me: R3000.
