I notice that my i5-750 has a multiplier of 21. Everything I have read says it should be 20.
So my 2.66Ghz CPU is running at 2.798GHz without overclocking.
Am I just lucky ? Or could the people who built my PC have changed this in the BIOS ? Or is this just normal variance ?

Thx to all the boffins !

If turbo is enabled then there is your answer. It dynamically raises the clock based on cores used, cpu load and temps

It's normal. Even if you disable turbo, eist and all the other stuff, some boards can force turbo on so you can increase the multiplier up one notch thus allowing you to force a constant 21x multi instead of the usual 20x

If you disable some cores you can push the multiplier up even further
